Vertical scrolling as an alternative to the app drawer
As an alternative replacement to the app drawer I suggest to place all the apps below the home screen where they are available through vertical continuous (non-paginated) scrolling from the home screen. As a user scrolls down the content of the home screen scrolls up as well, and pressing the home button would go back to the top. The benefit of this is that there is no need for a button for the app drawer (so one more space on the dock) and it can be more natural and easier to access the apps. The user, based on the alphabetical position of the app, can estimate how far down he/she has to scroll to access the app.
